Supportive-Single Room Occupancy (SPSRO)

SPSRO housing is a form of Single-Site Supportive Housing that combines permanent housing with some on-site services. The support offered in SPSROs is consistent with the principles guiding all Supportive Housing.  What works for this program is that those individuals who have had difficulty in Scattered Site Supportive Housing in the past are thriving in this building because there is always staff present.  They live in a new and safe building that is Mixed Supportive Housing and they are doing very well.  13 individuals were able to transition from licensed treatment housing to the SPSRO when we opened Greenport Gardens.

  • 25 supportive, one-bedroom apartments located at Greenport Gardens Apartments

  • Serving adults with severe, persistent mental illness

  • Scheduled staff visits in the apartments, as well as trips to assist individuals in completing various daily living skill activities such as shopping, laundry, medical appointments, and all other necessary recertification appointments with DSS and the SS administration.  Visits are provided at least twice per month, though residents are able to see and meet with staff who are present in the building as needed. 24 hour on-call procedures for emergency situations

  • Residents participate in a variety of rehabilitative support, recovery and clinical services

  • Recreational and educational trips and events provided, as well as community activities for entire building.
